Breathe : Yoga with Adriene

OK, so I have been playing with the idea of getting into Yoga more and more lately, I’ve been swamped with work, uni studies and just struggling to find the right outlet here in Cambodia. I know a lot of expat wives will be able to relate to how tough it can be to find your niche in a new city over and over again. I stumbled across this YouTube channel and really love how easy Adriene makes Yoga, all from the comfort of your own living room. She has over a million (A MILLION!) subscribers and after you try a few of her videos you’ll know why.

Here is one of my favourite sequences. It only take about half an hour to really rejuvenate and reconnect with your body. I’ve noticed such an improvement in my state of mind and it is really helping to lean out my body… (I’ve been enjoying a few too many caramel latte’s and chocolate brownies lately!)

CocoIce Strawberry + Banana Popsicles

There is nothing better than cooling down with an ice block after you’ve been out and about in the heat (that is constantly here in our part of Asia..). Here is one our favourite recipes, perfect frozen on a stick as a popsicle or in an ice cube tray to be blended up as the base for a smoothie bowl.

Ingredients :
– 400 ml of Coconut Milk (or water if you want a harder freeze)
– 1 punnet of Strawberries (less or more depending on your taste)
– 2 whole ripe Bananas
– 2 tablespoons of organic Ginger and Coconut sugar mix (available in most health stores)

 

Method :
– Add Coconut Milk, Strawberries, Bananas and Ginger Coconut mix to your blender. We use a Ninja purely for convenience. This is also great as a regular smoothie drink if you have teeth that are sensitive to frozen foods, if this is something you want to do we recommend adding a small handful of ice just to cool the temperature down.
– Blend away!
– Pour liquid into ice cube tray or into a deeper dish and add popsicle sticks.
– Freeze and Enjoy!

The Perfect Home Body Workout

Ok so, I’m a little behind the times but I have recently fallen in love with The Deckers! Cam was away for a work trip and I was casually flipping through the channels one night before bed and came across an episode from their second season of “Eric and Jessie : Game On”. I text my US bestie raving about how sweet, relatable and amazing these two were and she just laughed at me.. “I know!”

Anyway, I’ve since been following Jessie on social media and she just uploaded this video. Now I’m not post baby but when you move around a lot (expat wives, you feel me!) sometimes it can be really hard to :

1) Find the time (timezones and jet lag can be cruel)
2) The motivation! (no need to explain!)
3) Finding the right foods to fuel your body.. changing cities or countries means new supermarkets, and I’m struggling right now to find somewhere that has good, fresh, reliable produce.
4) Finding a gym.

So, long story short I have been working out a lot a home with YouTube videos and Jessie uploaded this perfect, full body heating workout and I love it.
